Winner 2008 David di Donatello: Young David (best first feature).

Following older brother Gabriele's lead (‘The Pursuit of Happyness’, ‘Seven Pounds’, Silvio Muccino (first feature) (lead actor ‘Manual of Love’, ‘My Best Enemy’) makes the leap to directing with ‘Tell Me of Love’, a new romance based on his own novel, and a huge, number one box office success in Italy in 2008.

A car accident on a rainy Roman night brings together Sasha (Muccino), the charming 20 year-old son of drug addicts, abandoned by his parents at a young age, raised in a rehab community and himself a poker addict and Nicole (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón), a married, older French woman haunted by her past who lives in Rome with her husband. They feel a mutual connection and exchange phone numbers after Sasha confesses that he only has eyes for the spoiled, unresponsive Benedetta (Carolina Crescentini), a childhood memory.  Nicole, a former analyst agrees to teach Sasha the art of seduction, assuring him that there is no woman who cannot be conquered.  The storyline alternates between Sasha’s ‘sentimental education’, the developing intimacy between Sasha and Nicole, and the encounter of each of them with their demons.

A fast, loud and hard-hitting film that opened on Valentine’s Day in Italy  ‘Tell me about love’ ‘talks about love’ but also about death, friendship, fear, a multitude of addictions and the fragility of life and relationships.
