‘Kiss me first’ is a fairy tale based in reality. An epic and emotionally charged story about a couple’s life together - apart. Adele (Stefania Rocca) and Marcello (Marc Cocci) have been marked by the same fate since their birth: born simultaneously on April 16th 1927, a few meters apart from each other. From then on the two protagonists have lived in continual symbiosis, magically sharing feelings, emotions and experiences. As children, in front of their schoolmates, they celebrate their unlikely wedding with the complicity of Loris, an ungainly altar boy. In an abandoned chapel they pledge to each other eternal love and exchange rubber rings cut from a bicycle tire. But the events of the Second World War soon see the two lovers separated; existing in parallel for many years, occasionally overlapping due to an ironic destiny. According to Loris, the witness and narrator of their story, his two friends will often seem extremely near, kindred spirits inevitably attracted by their mutual dependence. Their makeshift wedding ring gives them comfort, knowing that somewhere in the world the other nurtures the same sentiments. But the same magic that brings them together invariably drives them apart.
A sweet, magical love story, handsomely realized for the screen by first time director Ambrogio Lo Giudice |
